BRAZOS VALLEY - Heavy rain is blamed for flooding and power outages around the Brazos Valley.

Numerous reports of cars stranded after driving into high water. Bryan and College Station police are both asking people to stay off the roads. If you have to drive, do not try to drive through water over the road. Turn around, don't drown.
The College Station Fire Department responded to 14 calls between 7:30 and 10:00 p.m. Five of those were for cars stranded in water. The others: 3 structure fires (1 in Bryan), 3 automatic fire alarms, 2 reports of power lines down, 1 EMS Call.
Another high water rescue, around 12:45 a.m. Crews rescued a pregnant woman, in labor, who was stranded in high water on Highway 6 and Harvey Road.
College Station Utilities and BTU both reported numerous power outages, including the KBTX studios and surrounding neighborhood. That outage knocked us off the air during the 10:00 p.m. newscast.
