A former Blinn College student recently won an advertising competition with a commercial he filmed on the College’s Brenham campus.
Christian H. Clark was awarded $8,000 and a trip for two to Sydney, Australia for his first-place entry in the MOFILM Nestea Sydney Competition. Nestea has placed the ad on its YouTube channel and may air the spot on television or in movie theatres.
Clark filmed the commercial, titled “Male Cheerleader,” in February. In the ad, a student enters a college fair and, after drinking Nestea, is inspired to join the cheerleading squad. The ad concludes with Nestea’s slogan, “The start of something different.”
Roughly 50 people participated as cast, crew or extras during filming.
“It’s great that we were able to get a quality piece of work and, even better, they liked it,” Clark said.
Clark is the co-founder of City Limit Films, a full-service production company based in Los Angeles and Houston. He took part in Blinn’s dual-credit program while studying at Brenham High School.
MOFILM runs multiple major video competitions every year, offering millions of dollars in prizes to filmmakers plus the chance to travel to worldwide destinations, including London Film Festival, Rio, Lollapalooza, the Taj Mahal, Barcelona, Tribeca Film Festival, Consumer Electronics Show Las Vegas, Cannes Lions and many others. MOFILM is dedicated to helping filmmakers get discovered while providing brands with innovative advertising and video content.
