A member of the Air Force missing in Washington State since Saturday is a former member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets with a listed hometown of College Station.
Airman First Class James Adam Lassiter was assigned to a training group at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane. He was apparently on a canoe trip on the Spokane River, but did not show up for work Monday.
According to KREM in Spokane, authorities found his truck along the river, and they believe he went canoeing without a life jacket, helmet or dry suit. Water temperatures were below 40 degrees.
Helicopters, boats and jet skis have been used in the search, but have turned up no sign of the 26-year-old who was part of the A&M Class of 2008. That search has now been scaled back due to rising waters and bad weather.
