Former First Lady Barbara Bush helped officially launch a new pre-school education partnership Thursday at the George Bush Presidential Library on the A&M campus.

It's all about encouraging children and their parents to read aloud together.

And this partnership between the Malvern School, a private pre-school in Pennsylvania, and the Bush Library, is based on some recordings the former First Lady made back in 1991.

That was when she hosted a popular children's radio show called "Mrs. Bush's Story Time".

Two years ago the Malvern School relaunched Story Time in its pre-schools. And it was so successful, the program is being developed for schools and libraries across the country, for free.

Kristen Waterfield, the President of The Malvern School says,
"It's a thrilling experience and we thank Mrs. Bush and the library, they've been so wonderful. And Barbara Bush's corp. is really fantastic in promoting literacy for the young and old."

The teaching packets provide teachers with innovative methods to teach children about reading fundamentals.
