Police say Sivils, the son a former Bryan Fire Marshal, died in a car crash in rural Caldwell County while on his way to work.

The Bryan High graduate attended both Blinn and Texas A&M and after receiving his degree, he went to work for the City of Lockhart.

"Hearts are heavy today, our faith is being tested, but we know God will pull us through," said Betty Murray, a family friend.

Friends and family mourn the passing of Aaron Sivils.

A sea of blue, an aisle was formed with public servants to show respect and honor.

Members of the Lockhart Fire Department drove hours to honor him.

"It's just the world to us to lose a brother.He was very committed to everything he did. He was a very smart, bright young man that did everything he could to help the community," said Joshua Brown.

Fire trucks, emergency and police vehicles lined up outside the church.

Sivils was 23 years old. And he was engaged to be married.

" We were even planning his wedding," said Murray.

Betty Murray, a close family friend is coping with the loss.

"He's just a sweetheart he will be missed he was a great asset to the country."

A long procession of vehicles led to the College Station Cemetery.

Some people who didn't even know Sivils, came out to support him.

"I don't know it kind of gives you tingles you know when you see it, I wasn't familiar with Aaron but he worked in my community, he served my community, just like I do,"
said Kathryn McGrath, Lockhart Police Officer.

"He always thought of others first, he never ever put himself in front. We just thank God that he gave us someone so special to love," said Murray.

Aaron was laid to rest in the Aggie Field of Honor at the College Station Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lockhart Fire- Rescue.
