George Bush Drive and Wellborn Road Reopens After Train and Car Crash

COLLEGE STATION, Texas College Station Police have reopened the area of George Bush Drive, Wellborn Road and Marion Pugh after an accident between a train and a vehicle.

Police say a train clipped a Toyota SUV just before 3:00 Friday afternoon.

College Station Police say the Toyota Highlander was traveling on George Bush Drive and stopped on the train track at a red light.

Police say the railroad crossing arms came down behind the vehicle pinning the SUV while traffic in front was also stopped for the red light.

The 70-year-old man driving was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

A 67-year-old woman riding with him was not injured.

The driver was cited for stopping/standing on a railroad track.

The roadway reopened around 3:30 P.M.
