COLLEGE STATION A 20-year-old has some explaining to do to his grandmother after he allegedly stole almost 5 grand from her.
20-year-old Christian Michael Whiffen of College Station was arrested after his grandmother Bettie Newberry noticed the money missing.
She told investigators she gave Whiffen her ATM card to buy groceries for the house after she had surgery. Newberry said she didn't expect him to make 48-hundred dollars in withdraws over a three week period.
Whiffen was arrested and charged with credit or debit card abuse of the elderly, a 3rd degree felony, because Newberry is older than 65.
