Grass Fire Contained in South Brazos County

Brazos County- A grass fire is now completely contained after burning 30-40 acres in south Brazos County near the 24000 block of FM 159.

The South Brazos County Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at 12pm on Wednesday. A crew of 9 firefighters arrived at the scene along with 4 grass trucks, 1 tanker, and 1 fire engine. At one point 4 structures were in danger, but the fire was stopped before causing any damage.

South Brazos County fire chief, Chet Barker, says hot spots remain but the fire is 100% contained at this time.
