1 Killed, 3 Injured in Grimes County Accident

A 4 vehicle accident took the life of one person at 2:43 p.m. Sunday. Two trucks were headed southbound on FM 1774, just north of County Road 351. Paul Miller, 52 slowed down his 2009 Dodge pickup truck to make a left turn. Calvin McKerley, 43 of Waller County failed to see Miller slow down, hitting his 2011 Ford F350 into Miller’s Ford. After being struck from behind, Miller’s truck moved into oncoming traffic, colliding with a 2010 Ford passenger car in the northbound lane.
The driver of the car, 20 year old Denis Rafael Bautista-Carrasco of Tomball, was killed.

Passenger of the Ford, Lliverio Solis, 19 of Magnoila was sent to the hospital with severe head injuries. Miller was transported to St. Luke’s and McKerley was taken to St. Joseph’s in Bryan. The person in the fourth car, behind the Ford passenger car Kandy Wyatt, 40 was not injured.

Authorities said alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
