Hundreds of fire and police vehicles lined up outside Reliant early Wednesday to prepare for a procession and memorial service to remember four fallen Houston firefighters.
You can watch the memorial service live on KHOU 11 or KHOU.com starting at 10 a.m.
Up to 40,000 people are expected to pack Reliant Stadium, including more than 3,000 firefighters from around the country.
Firefighters from across Texas will fill in for Houston firefighters who want to attend the service.
Crews spent Tuesday getting ready for what is expected to be one of the biggest memorial services Houston has ever seen. Fire trucks from Houston Fire Department Station 51 and 68, where the fallen firefighters worked, were placed inside the stadium.
At 5 a.m. Wednesday, hundreds of fire trucks from around the state met at five different staging areas: Katy Mills Mall, the Gander Mountain store on Highway 290, Deerbrook Mall, the Sam's Club on Freeport and Almeda Mall. The vehicles then made their way to a staging area outside Reliant.
A memorial procession on Kirby Drive was scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. service.
Fire Chief Terry Garrison, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Mayor Annise Parker are among the many special guests expected to address the audience.
