Police were investigating Wednesday after a gold-coin dealer was reportedly abducted, robbed and abandoned in Walker County.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. as the unidentified man was headed to an appointment in the River Oaks area.
Somewhere near the 3200 block of Reba, the victim said a car rear-ended him. When he got out to check the damage, he said three guys forced him back into his vehicle and drove away.
The men drove him to Walker County and abandoned him on Highway 19, near I-45, the victim said.
As he was running away, the victim said he slipped and fell, hitting his head on the concrete.
He was found by a passing motorist and airlifted to Memorial Hermann.
Police said the suspects got away with more than $1 million in gold bullion coins.
The victim’s vehicle is a 2011 4-door GMC Yukon Denali with temporary plate No. 81M-5250.
Police did not release a description of the suspects, other than the fact that they spoke with a foreign accent.
