Harris Found Guilty, Sentenced to 99 Years

The man dubbed "The Twilight Rapist" has been found guilty of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault for a 2009 Leon County incident.

Harris has been sentenced to 99 years in prison on top of a life sentence he was already given for a 2011 rape conviction in Edna.

Investigators say DNA has linked Harris to multiple assaults and attempted assaults in Central and Southeast Texas.

The defendant took the stand Thursday and Friday in his own defense. A state psychiatrist who testified Friday told the court Harris was sane, and that certain behaviors he had displayed were faked.
