COLLEGE STATION – Police closed Harvey Mitchell Parkway (FM 2818) between George Bush and Luther Street, for about four hours Sunday morning, to reconstruct a deadly crash.

David Alan Wesneski, 25, and a friend were coming back from a hunting trip early Wednesday morning. Around 4:30 a.m., the driver slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler on Harvey Mitchell at George Bush.

Wesneski was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pick-up, a 22 year old male, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Wesneski’s funeral was Saturday in Brenham.

The road reopened about 10:30 a.m.
