Madison County Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers spent the morning on the scene of an accident on Highway 21 near the Navasota River bridge.

The crash happened early Wednesday morning. Troopers say a truck pulling a horse trailer east on Highway 21 crossed the center line and struck an oilfield truck on the passenger side.

The horse trailer and truck ended up in the ditch. Troopers say there were seven horses inside the trailer.

Highway 21 near the Navasota River was been shut down in both directions, but has since reopened.

Troopers say that two people were taken to the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. No word on their condition or the extent of their injuries.
