Hitachi Consulting Partners with Research Valley Partnership to Bring New Jobs to BCS

A Japanese Company is making a footprint in Bryan-College Station with 50 new jobs, some paying up to $100,000 a year.

Hitachi Consulting has chosen to open up an IT and Support Services Center in Bryan.

A major announcement from a global company as Hitachi Consulting is opening an Information Technology services center.

50 new jobs are coming with salaries ranging from $40,000 to $100,000.

The are hiring people with IT backgrounds right out of college to 7-8 years experience.

Jim Cole is the Senior Vice President of Managed Services for Hitachi Consulting.

"So that kind of support will basically be to provide guidance to customers and how to to use the software applications they have installed in their business . Those applications could be financial, human resource," said Cole.

B/CS beat out 249 other cities in their search including Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fort Collins, Colorado.

"For us job and economic growth is priority one and the way that we service our clients well is all dependent upon the people that we have and for us to grow we've got to have good quality people," added Jim Cole.

Todd McDaniel, President and CEO of the Research Valley Partnership says it's a great addition.

"I mean you think of Hitachi as being a company that's involved in electronics, it's a very very large company. What they'll be doing here in Bryan / College Station is basically IT services for some of the world's largest companies," he said.

The service center is expected to open up in the Galleria Village in Bryan by March 4th.

The company will initially start with 25 employees.

So far around six people have already been hired.

Texas A&M and the educated workforce here also helped Hitachi Consulting choose to move here.

In collaboration with the Research Valley Partnership and utilizing an innovative geospatial site selection tool, they then took their research one step further, collecting additional data regarding the average wage rate for IT jobs as well as number of IT employees in each market based on job classes. Bryan-College Station scored considerably higher than the competition and became the obvious best choice for Hitachi Consulting’s needs.
