ROBERTSON COUNTY - A huge fire destroyed two large chicken houses in Robertson County off of Rose Hill Rd.
According to the Robertson County Sheriff and our reporters on the scene, a fire broke out just after 5pm and spread to two poultry production houses. The structures were reportedly empty at the time of the fire.
Six different fire departments were called out to the fire and firefighters on scene say they were able to get the fire under control by about 6:30pm. The fire was still smoldering as of 10pm, and firefighters say it will be a while before it will be completely out.
The Robertson County Sheriff says the chicken houses are independent providers to the company Sanderson Farms, and neighbors tell our reporters on scene that the owners are currently out of the country.
