An investigation is underway after human remains were found in northeast Brazos County.
According to Sheriff Chris Kirk, the owner of a ranch called his office Wednesday evening after he said he had found human remains. The property is off of Tabor Road near Wagon Wheel Drive.
The remains were "badly decomposed," according to Kirk, who said they were in a fenced pasture about 100 yards from Tabor Road.
Kirk said he cannot rule out foul play, but that there is no immediate threat to the public. Authorities were at the scene Thursday morning continuing their investigation.
An autopsy has been ordered.
