Hundreds of people showed up at the Caldwell Civil Center Tuesday night to show their support for injured Bryan firefighter Ricky Mantey.
Mantey and Mitch Moran were severely burned in February while fighting a deadly fire in Bryan that killed two other firemen.
Tuesday night, men and women of all ages helped raise money for the Mantey family as they ate barbeque, listened to country music, and bid on silent auction items.
Texas Land commissioner Jerry Patterson said he was honored to speak at such a good cause.
"Its good to come back and help a gentleman, a firefighter who deserves all we can do for him," Patterson said. "He is a true public servant and we are here to help."
Even members from Mantey's family showed up to the event.
Mantey's brother, Patrick, told News 3 he and his family are overwhelmed by the love and support everyone has offered them.
All proceeds from this event go directly to the Ricky Mantey benefit account.
