Hundreds of customers of a local bank will see some major changes. Brazos Valley Bank is now doing business as American Momentum Bank.

American Momentum is now the largest independent bank in the Brazos Valley.

The Brazos Valley Bank’s new identity was born at the start of business on Saturday morning. Both bank locations, at 4030 Highway 6 South in College Station and 1119 E. Villa Maria Road in Bryan, began doing business as American Momentum Bank.

"We are one of the strongest and soundest banks in Bryan/College Station as far as capitalization. We are now the largest independent bank in Bryan/College Station,” said Frank Varisco, the Bryan/College Station Market President for American Momentum.

Varisco says the hundreds of Brazos Valley Bank customers shouldn't be alarmed.

"For now they are not going to see any changes. They will still be able to continue to use their same checks, their same ATM cards, their same debit cards. They will continue to use their online banking at BV Bank.com,” Varisco said.

By the summer, all Brazos Valley Bank accounts will be converted to the American Momentum data system. New banking cards will also be sent.

"We have about 20 locations in Florida, now we will have 3 full service banking centers in Bryan/college Station. We also have a loan production office in Dallas. We hope to continue to grow the bank not only in Florida but here in Texas,” said Varisco.

For Brazos Valley Bank customers, the online banking site will be available until this summer until their accounts are converted to the American Momentum data system.
