A Huntsville man is in the Walker County Jail Tuesday after being arrested on his 5th Driving While Intoxicated charge.
Police responded to a domestic distubance in progress in the 3000 block of Old Houston Road around 10:30 Monday night. While on the way, dispatch told the officers that 38-year-old Stephen Bohanon was leaving the scene.
Officers passed a car that was speeding, turned around and initiated a traffic stop. Bohanon was the driver of the car. According to the police report, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Bohanon. He admitted to officers that he had been drinking earlier in the night.
Police arrested Bohanon and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or more. This was Bohanon's fifth arrest for DWI. His first came in 1988, the second in 1995 with the thrid and fourth arrests in 1998.
He was booked into the Walker County Jail and held under $30,000 bond.
