Inmate Attempts Suicide at Montgomery County Jail

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, The Texas Ranger’s and The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office are currently investigating an attempted suicide that occurred at the Montgomery County Jail.

At approximately 4:00 pm Saturday, 31 year old Johnny Isabel Valdez Jr., who was incarcerated for a misdemeanor theft, was found hanging in his cell during a routine cell check. A Sheriff’s Deputy found Inmate Valdez hanging by a sheet that he had tied around his neck.

First aid was administered by Sheriff’s Office Staff and he was transported to an area hospital where he is in critical condition.
