A lawyer is trying to sue the state of Connecticut for $100 million says the potential claim is about improving school security, not money.

Irving Pinsky represents a 6-year-old survivor of the Newtown school shooting on December 14th.

According to the claim, the child heard "conversations, gunfire and screaming" over Sandy Hook's intercom after someone in the office apparently switched on the system.

Pinsky says the girl has suffered "emotional and psychological trauma and injury."

The attorney said he hasn't gotten a reply from the state yet.
