The City of College Station’s Lincoln Recreation Center will celebrate African American History Month with a series of events starting Monday.
Monday, 7 p.m.: Freedom, do you have it?
A praise and inspirational celebration featuring speaker Dr. Jacqui King of First United Methodist Church.
Tuesday, 7 p.m.: Roots
Lincoln Recreation Center Supervisor Lance Jackson will share his story and give advice on how to trace your family history.
Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Soul Food Luncheon
The $8-per-place luncheon will consist of a choice of meats, vegetables and dessert prepared by Helen Washington and LaVerne Young- Hawkins. Only cash will be accepted.
Thursday, 6:30 p.m.: Inner City Blues to Bling Bling
The featured speaker will be Houston’s Maco L. Faniel.
