Miramont Country Club in Bryan is trying to bring one of the oldest grand slam tennis tournaments to the Brazos Valley. In keeping up with the tradition of Wimbledon, the country club cut the driving range into makeshift tennis courts, so members could play like the pros on the grass courts.
"Having all the people the members and their guests in white and we made two tennis courts on our driving range and our golf course crew and maintenance crew really worked hard getting it ready," said Todd Taylor, director of Tennis Miramont.
The country club hopes to make this a an annual tradition. The 127 Wimbledon Championships ends Sunday in London.
