Local First Responders Climb the Height of World Trade Center

Local firefighters and other first responders showed their respect by climbing 110 stories - the height the World Trade Center stood.

The event took place at the Varisco Building in Downtown Bryan.

The climb signifies the commitment of the fallen service men and women who died serving their country and its citizens.

Participants also climbed in personal protective gear most often used when fighting fire - the same type of equipment those responding to the World Trade Center wore..which makes the climb even more difficult.

This is the third consecutive year the Bryan Fire Department has hosted a memorial service to honor 9/11.
