Local Businessman, Community Leader Sam Sharp Dies

A longtime community leader and Jefferson Award recipient has died.

Sam Sharp passed away Wednesday from leukemia. He was 80 years old.

Sharp established the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley, the local Habitat for Humanity and Hospice Brazos Valley.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in downtown Bryan this coming Saturday, Jan 28, at 2 p.m.

The family is asking that you offer a random act of kindness in memory of Sharp.
