A convicted drug dealer is heading to prison.
Torrick McMurray, 35 of Bryan, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for dealing cocaine out of a College Station home, one that was across the street from a daycare.
McMurray was arrested in January 2010. He had been seen selling the coke by authorities, and undercover officers had bought some themselves. College Station and Bryan police and Brazos County deputies had teamed up on the investigation.
In a statement, Brazos County Assistant District Attorneys Kevin Capps and Brian Price wrote, "We all owe our law enforcement officers great thanks for conducting an outstanding investigation. There is no place in our community for those who seek to profit from the misery and addiction of others. The jury's verdict sends a clear message that Brazos County will not tolerate drug dealers, especially where the operation places children in danger."
McMurray had already been in prison for credit card abuse and burglary.
A $3,000 fine was also assessed.
