Local Dentist, Former Education Board Chair, in New Documentary

Bryan dentist Don McLeroy served as chairman of the Texas State Board of Education.

Because of his efforts to alter curriculum standards -- including the creationist's push to offer more critical examinations of evolutionary theory -- he became beloved by some and reviled by others.

Now, a new documentary called "The Revisionaries" takes a look at the battles over what is taught in the state and the nation.

Tuesday on "First News at Four" on News 3, Dr. McLeroy was live in studio to talk about the film, his efforts, and his recent appearance on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report."
