University Title Company’s Chairman of the Board and CEO was named Title Person of the Year at the Texas Land Title Association’s Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Friday, June 15. According to the Texas Land Title Association, Title Person of the Year is the highest honor TLTA bestows. The recipient is chosen by the sitting TLTA President each year and is awarded at each Annual Conference.
"For the past 40 years of my life I have been blessed to work in the title insurance industry. My passion is to help people achieve their dream of property ownership. Over the years I have developed many friendships locally and statewide because of my participation in this career. This is my life and what my children grew up knowing. For them to show up and surprise me was one of the best gifts I could receive!" exclaims Celia Goode-Haddock. Among those present at the Texas Land Title Association’s President’s Ball to watch Ms. Goode-Haddock receive this award were her husband Dr. Bill Haddock, her son Quinn Williams and his wife Kim, her daughter Ashley Stallings Stover and her husband Charles, her daughter Leigh Schaefers and her husband David and her step-daughter Kristi England, her husband Brian and their daughter Madison. President/COO of University Title and long-time friend of Goode-Haddock’s, Karen McCarroll, and her husband Chuck were also on hand to watch the title legend honored, along with Dawn Bowers, University Title’s Client Relationships Manager. .
From a startup company of two employees in 1973, Ms. Goode-Haddock has handled all positions within the company. Under her leadership, University Title has grown to be the largest provider of title insurance in Brazos County. Employing over 55 employees, the company is recognized as one of the largest private business enterprises in the College Station/Bryan community and is well-known in the area as a business leader.
“Achieving this award is the high point of my title industry career. It was a complete surprise and I am overwhelmed. Those who have previously received this award are my heroes in the title insurance industry,” shares Celia Goode-Haddock. In addition to being named the 2012 Title Person of the Year, Celia Goode-Haddock has earned the 2004 BCS Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, the 2009 Outstanding Alumni of Texas A&M University’s College of Education and Human Development and the 2009 BCS Habitat for Humanity Bubba Moore Lifetime Achievement Award. Among the highest honors that Celia Goode-Haddock has earned is the street name, Celia’s Dream, in Habitat for Humanity’s Angels Gate Subdivision.
