It's an even more volatile time for U.S. troops right now in Afghanistan, and a local radio station wants us to remember our military men and women with a kind gesture.
Candy 95 partnered with Inspirations at the Post Oak Mall in College Station for a special project for our troops overseas.
They asked listeners to create cards or letters for members of the armed forces. By late Wednesday afternoon they had gotten 70 cards.
Those who participated actually created the cards at Inspirations.
Emma Krajieck had some good reasons to do it. "Because a lot of my family, my grandfather, great grandfather, my uncles and aunts, they all have served in the military and this is special to me," she said.
Candy 95 and the National Association of Broadcasters will deliver the cards to the troops.
