It was one year ago that our own Shane McAuliffe traveled to Germany with the Rotary Group Study Exchange. Today the Bryan Rotary Club, which is part of the local district, welcomed this year's team to the Brazos Valley.
Members of this year's Rotary Group Study Exchange hail from Southern Italy. They're getting their first look at Texas culture and experiences.
So far they've visited parts of Houston, Beaumont and Huntsville. They even got to go horse riding at the Still Creek Boys Ranch and attended an Aggie softball game.
The trip is a whirlwind experience and their group leader has learned a lot about the Lone Star State.
"I think you are very, very friendly. I have found a lot of wonderful people and you all have wonderful facilities and landscape too."
The group will spend next week in Galveston and attend the Rotary Club's district conference. Members of our local Group Study Exchange team will leave for Italy early next month.
