*10 P.M. Update*
Members of the Madisonville community are remembering a high school football player.
Investigators confirmed that 15-year old Jarad Davis died Saturday night after drowning in a pond at a church back-to-school gathering.
News 3 was in Madisonville where there were heavy hearts at Madisonville Christian Fellowship.
Friends say 15-year-old Jarad Davis was a remarkable young man who had a zest for life but above all was passionate about his faith in Christ and was dedicated to his church youth group too.
Now his church and community are grieving but also celebrating the life and ministry he led.
He was a young man friends say touched everyone he knew.
15-year-old Jarad Davis was a sophomore at Madisonville High School, played on the JV Football team, but was most known for his faith.
"The church is full today because of that boy and that's amazing," said Elizabeth Cobb, a member of Madisonville Christian Fellowship.
Friends and family and the community gathered at Madisonville Christian Fellowship Sunday night to grieve and also share a message of hope.
Davis drowned while at a church gathering at a property on Thunderbird Lane where three nurses, and two firefighters at the back-to-school party tried to revive him.
He was flown to Bryan and then Temple where he died.
Elizabeth Cobb has been a lifelong friend of the family.
"I think the best way to show support first of all is a lot of prayer and another way is I think we're gonna start receiving donations for the family. They can use any support right now," Cobb said.
She says his mother Recheal Glover also lost her daughter when she was six.
"Her oldest would be 16. I don't have the answer to that I just know a lot of prayer but she can make it through with God's help and with support," Cobb added.
Pastor Wade Phillips tells us Jarad loved the Lord and even preached and taught lessons to their youth group.
"Today Jarad would tell everybody watching this program that he had accepted Christ into his heart and I really feel like that he would want you to know that hey this is what you need to do too," said Phillips of Madisonville Christian Fellowship.
"None of us are guaranteed tomorrow so make sure you tell everybody you love that you love 'em today," said Elizabeth Cob.
"This church is grieving, this town is grieving these kids in the school are grieving and it's a hard time it really is, but we're trusting in God and God is an amazing God. He's gonna take care of us," Phillips added.
We're told Jarad Davis did know how to swim and had gone swimming in the pond several times before, before this accident happened.
Visitation is set for Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.
The funeral is set for Wednesday at 2 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

Madisonville Fire Chief Thom Jones tells News 3 Jarad Davis was swimming in a pond at a property off Thunderbird Lane when he went under.
The teen died around 11 o'clock Saturday night after being airlifted to Bryan and then Temple.
Chief Jones tells us two firefighters and three nurses were at the church gathering for Madisonvile Christian Fellowship and a responder went into the water to try to find him and it took around four to seven minutes until they located him underwater.
Jones also says CPR was performed for more than 30 minutes before a PHI helicopter arrived.
