2 Drivers Injured in Major Accident on University Drive

UPDATE: University Re-opened and drivers of the vehicles have been identified as:

2002 Pontiac Grand Am
Kristin Willmott
21 years old
College Station resident

2004 Pontiac Sunfire
Stephanie Guzman
25 years old
College Station resident

2006 Honda Accord
Lisa Davis
40 years old
Bryan resident


The roadway was reopened to thru traffic at approximately 9:30 AM.
University Drive is expected to reopen later Tuesday after a three-car accident forced police to close it down.

College Station police say, around 7:30 a.m., a grey Pontiac Grand Am was turning left onto Coppercrest Drive when a Pontiac Sunfire traveling behind the Grand Am tried to pass on the left.

Police say the Sunfire collided head on with a white Honda Accord traveling westbound.

The driver of the Accord was transported to the College Station Medical Center with possible injuries. The driver of the Sunfire was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health System with facial fractures.

No charges have been filed at this time since the accident is still under investigation.
