A Washington County man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a bank in New Ulm and a Sonic drive-in in Brenham.
Austin County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Arthur DeSean Howard last Wednesday after the Industry State Bank branch on FM 1436 was robbed.
Witnesses say the robber ran from the bank, and later investigators discovered a bag of cash belonging to the bank and a pile of clothing in a wooded area off Highway 109.
Howard was arrested at a residence near New Ulm and later taken to Brenham where he was questioned about the restaurant robbery.
During the early morning hold-up at the Sonic on September first, investigators say Howard threatened two Sonic employees with a knife and demanded they give him money.
He was already on probation for aggravated robbery in Montgomery County. He remains in the Austin County Jail without bond. If convicted, Howard faces up to 99 years in prison.
