A police officer was trying to arrest a man for public intoxication, and in the process he was bit by the suspect.
Police say around 1:30 Friday morning, they found 20-year-old Hector Ocampo unconscious on a picnic table at Northgate near Texas A&M University. When they asked for his name, he told police it was confidential.
Investigators tried arresting him for failing to identify himself and public intoxication, but he fled on foot.
Officers were able to catch up with him and had Ocampo on the ground. While trying to put handcuffs on him, police say Ocampo bit the officer on his right knee.
The police officer had teeth marks, but no major injuries.
Ocampo was arrested for assaulting a public servant.
