Bryan, TX Kyle Wayne Lawson, of Pearland, was sentenced to ten years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on March 7th for violating the conditions of his deferred adjudication probation.
Lawson pled guilty in March 2010 to two counts of Burglary of a Habitation and placed in the drug court pro-gram.
Prosecutors presented evidence that while on probation, Lawson had repeatedly tested positive for marijuana and alcohol, refused to report to required meetings with probation officers and drug counselors, and refused to attend an inpatient treatment facility that he agreed to attend during a prior hearing on his violations of probation.
Prosecutors also presented evidence that he continuously showed contempt for the court by disobeying face-to-face direct orders from the court.
Assistant District Attorney Jessica Escue prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Texas.
