College Station College Station Police said they arrested Clifton Porch, 29 after he reportedly told a woman he was going to take her car and drove off with it Saturday night.
Authorities said officers were dispatched around 10:45 to the 1500 block of Harvey Road at the Post Oak Mall, where a woman working security for a t-shirt tent in the mall parking lot said a man stole her car. According to police, Porch kicked over a cone and the security employee got out of her running vehicle and warned Porch that she would call police if he didn't put the cone back in its place. Police said Porch then told the woman he was taking her vehicle, proceeded to do just that and headed eastbound.
The victim was able to provide a photograph of Porch and another witness was able to verify Porch took the victim's car without her consent.
Porch was arrested for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and was booked into the College Station City Jail.
