According to reports, Crispin Cabrera-Orgen has been on the Bryan Police Department's radar after detectives learned the alleged burglar was selling stolen property out of his apartment.
Friday investigators set up a sting operation outside of his home at the 2800 block of Cypress Bend. The police report says an undercover agent knocked on Cabrera-Orgen's door and asked if he wanted to buy a brand new stereo, valued at $95, for only $30.
Cabrera-Orgen declined and pointed to the apartment door across from him, saying the resident living there would buy it. After negotiating, the investigator told him he'd finally sell it for $20.
The report says Cabrera-Orgen seemed skeptical at first, but after looking downstairs and around the area, he obliged. He reportedly shut his door and returned with two $10 bills. What Cabrera-Orgen didn't know -- is he bought it from an undercover detective. The stereo belonged to Bryan PD and at the time of the transaction - police believe Cabrera-Orgen purchased the property knowing it was stolen.
He was arrested for theft and according to reports; he is being detained on an immigration hold.
