Another restaurant boom is about to hit Bryan-College Station.
It seems everywhere you look in the two cities construction is underway on a new eatery.
Work is wrapping up at the new Fowl Digits restaurant on Texas Avenue.
"Our target is April 1st. Make it an April Fowl's Day," joked Bryan Holubec with Fowl Digits.
Things are coming together for the sports themed restaurant after months of construction.
"We moved it back several times with the idea that we're not going to open it because we said we'd open it on that date. We're going to open it when it's ready to go," said Holubec.
And it isn't the only new grub in town.
"Our combination is high quality burgers, good value, high design on University hopefully equals success," said Jimmy Loup owner of Grub Burger Bar.
The Grub Burger Bar opened its doors on restaurant row on March 5th. So far business has been good for the burger joint.
"You know we're still a small community but people still want to have an Austin, Houston or Dallas experience," said Loup.
Over the next few weeks even more restaurants will open their doors. Lupe Tortillas is scheduled to open in the beginning of April. A new sports bar/restaurant called Wolfies will open next week.
On the south side of College Station, a fast food restaurant revival is underway with McDonald's opening a new location, Chick-fil-A opening on March 29th, and a Taco Bell currently under construction.
In Bryan, Freddy's Frozen Custard is under construction on the corner of Boonville and Highway 6. It's scheduled to open in May. And the Chicken Express in Downtown Bryan will open its doors in a matter of days.
Now there are still several restaurants looking at coming to Bryan College Station, currently Carl's Jr is actively searching for a location for a new restaurant.
