An East Texas man is standing trial next week for the murder outside of a nightclub in Huntsville.
23-year-old Cody Walters of Shepherd is charged with the first degree murder of 22-year-old John McCrary and has been in the Walker County Jail since his bond was revoked in November of 2010.
John McCrary was stabbed multiple times outside of the Shenanigans nightclub in Huntsville on December 30, 2009.
McCrary also of Shepherd then died during surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Jury qualification is taking place Friday with the trial set to start on Tuesday.
If convicted Walters would face five to 99 years behind bars.
The trial is expected to take two to three weeks.
