At the Aggieland Humane Society, adopting a dog, cat, or even a rat was an affordable proposition.
"We've got lots of people out here looking at cats and dogs," said Kathy Bice, the Executive Director of the Aggieland Humane Society.
You see bail on these beautiful barkers was one simple price on Monday, whatever you could afford. And that's not an April Fools joke.
"It's just no joke. We have to save lives and what a fun way to save lives," said Bice
The shelter is currently at about 95 percent capacity. In order to move some of their furry friends out a little faster, the Aggieland Humane Society decided to give the cheap as you want adoptions a shot.
"There are other shelters that have tried the name your own price and it's been very successful on the west coast so it's time for us to try it here in Texas," said Bice.
With so many adoptable faces, the program is a no brainier for animal lovers.
"It's important for us to find homes for the animals that give us unconditional love," said Bice
So far over a dozen pets have been adopted today with the adoption prices running anywhere from $25 to $150.
