Navasota to Host Blues Fest

Good to Know:

Tickets are 15 dollars for tonight and 25 for tomorrow, or 30 dollars for both days if you purchase your tickets today.

NAVASOTA - The sound of Blues music will be heard at the Grimes County Expo Center this weekend.

The 18th annual Blues Fest in memory of singer Mance Lipscomb, will start at 7 tonight in the Blues capital of Texas.

It's not just for enjoying the great music...proceeds from the event go to the Mance Lipscomb Scholarship Fund that benefits Navasota High School seniors.

The festival is also a boost for the local economy.

"It brings in folks from out of town that will stay in our hotels, come eat at our restaurants, and shop at our businesses," said Navasota Mayor Bert Miller.
