Dozens of avid young fishermen made the trip out to Patout Pond just off of Highway 6 in Navasota, Saturday. The anglers got a chance to learn how to tie knots, cast poles, identify fish, and of course have fun.

The event was put on by the City of Navasota and the Navasota Noon Lions Club. KBTX Anchor John Gilbert was able to attend Saturday's event. Also in attendance was Navasota Mayor Bert Miller.

The first 200 registrants received a free t-shirt courtesy of the Navasota Noon Lions Club.
