Listen up kids and parents.
If you like to fish or want to teach your kids the fine art of fishing, this is the weekend to do it.
The City of Navasota and the Navasota Noon Lions Club are sponsoring a free Kidfish on Saturday at Patout Pond just off Highway 6 North.
Registration begins at 9 am and the first 200 registrants get a free t-shirt.
Kids will also have a chance to learn how to tie knots, cast, identify fish and practice safety.
You'll need to bring a fishing rod, tackle, and sunscreen, although a limited number of rods will be available for the event.
News 3's John Gilbert will be there to help you bait your hook, along with Navasota Mayor Bert Miller. Come on out and have a good time, and you might just catch some fish.
