In the past several years, Walker County emergency management officials have had to deal with wildfires and the aftermaths of hurricanes.

Walker County now has a new Mobile Command Center, which makes handling crisis situations easier.

The state of the art portable center enables emergency workers to set up on location in as little as 30 minutes.

The mobile management structure is powered by two generators and is equipped with computers, cameras, a radio room and has appliances that enable workers to cook and prepare meals while they work to protect citizens.
