COLLEGE STATION, Texas From seafood to steaks a number of new restaurants are in store for College Station this year as the population surges upward.
News 3 has a taste of what's coming our way soon.
New restaurants are firing up their grills in Bryan / College Station including one of the newest places to eat.
Boneheads opened just three weeks ago on Restaurant Row across from the Hilton Hotel on University Drive.
Davis Downey of Bryan was trying their Mahi Mahi for the first time.
"It's pretty tasty. They have the spiciest sauce I've found in town and that's pretty wonderful and rice is good, sauce is good," he said.
This is the chain's second Texas location. The first is in Austin.
Heath Groves is the College Station restaurant's owner and managing member.
"It's also unique in the types of food that we offer. We have a lot of grilled fish, grilled vegetables we have some grilled chicken and we are also known for our Piri Piri Sauce," said Groves.
Groves is an Aggie Grad and wanted to return after a few years working in Austin.
"I chose College Station as a place I wanted to move and live in so I opened this as my job," he added.
Just a few doors down what used to be the home of TGI Friday's will soon be Willie's Grill and Ice House.
Pappadeaux is coming just across from Fish Daddy's and there are ongoing talks to try to bring Saltgrass Steakhouse to south College Station by the Tower Point shopping center.
As College Station nears closer and closer to 100,00 people it makes the market even more appealing for restaurants that might not have considered coming here before.
Jason Schubert is the Principal Planner for College Station.
"One that we actually had a sign permit recently for is Arbano's Café. It's actually a Mediterranean spot that's looking to go in the Lofts of Wolf Pen Creek and everybody's always talking about Pappadeaux,"
"I love new restaurants personally because it's like I've already eaten at all the places here it seems like and every time a new place opens up it's like check it out," said Davis Downey.
And soon many more options for your dining pleasure.
Willie's and Arbano's are expected to open in the coming months.
It's still unclear when Pappadeux will begin to replace one of the Scott & White Clinic buildings on University Drive that they bought.
