City and school board elections across the Brazos Valley are set to be decided in just under an hour now.

Many eyes will be squarely on College Station, as at least three seats and as many as six could be changed when the voting process comes to an end.

Supporters of Wellborn's right to vote on its future have put the future of three College Station city council members on the line. Mayor Nancy Berry and Council members Katy-Marie Lyles and Dave Ruesink all voted to continue with the study of annexation of the community, so detractors got enough signatures to put their tenures on the line. If any or all of these three are voted out, a June special election will be held to fill the seat.

Three other seats are being contested in College Station. For Place 1 to replace John Crompton, it's former Texas House candidate Blanche Brick taking on political newcomer Shawn Rhodes. For Place 3, Karl Mooney are Arthur Pinto are each seeking office for the first time. The winner will replace Dennis Maloney. And in Place 5, Jana McMillan is out, but which one of four candidates will be in. Each is running for the first time, but one has to get 50 percent of the vote or a run-off will be needed.

The City of Bryan features no contested city council races, as incumbents Chuck Konderla and Ann Horton are unopposed.
