From the OCT Website:
Open Carry Texas (OCT) is an organization dedicated to the safe and legal carry of firearms openly in the State of Texas in accordance with the United States and Texas Constitutions and applicable laws.
BRYAN - If you had a chance to drive by William J. Bryan and Main in Downtown Bryan Saturday afternoon, you may have seen something out of the ordinary.
"We want to see the open carry of modern handguns passed in our legislature," said Open Carry Texas (OCT) march organizer Michael Gilden.
OCT members marched on one of the busiest corners of downtown Bryan today to get the word out about open carry legislation.
They chose a busy public location for their march as opposed to a secluded park somewhere, and they know that, like any cause, they're going to have opposition.
"Everybody has a right to their opinion. We may differ on that opinion, but that's the great thing about this country," Gilden said.
While this is the group's first march in Brazos County, they've held over twelve hundred similar marches across the state of Texas.
