Highway 6 in Grimes County is back open to traffic after an 18-wheeler overturned on Sunday.
The accident happened about nine miles south of Navasota near Beason Creek.
According to Department of Public Safety Trooper Jimmy Morgan, authorities discovered the truck tractor semi-trailer hanging over a guardrail around 2 p.m. Sunday after the driver lost control. Trooper Morgan said the driver had trouble applying his brakes, which caused the semi-trailer to skid, and then hit the left side of the median. Morgan said the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries.
Authorities said they are still investigating the exact cause of the crash and do not believe alcohol was a factor.
Crews were on scene until around 2 a.m. Monday cleaning up from the crash.
