COLLEGE STATION A paper towel is reason a College Station man is being charged with assault.
Witnesses told police that 28-year-old Daniel Adam Merritt was in his car behind the Daily Ruckus in Northgate when another man threw a paper towel that hit his car.
According to the arrest report, Merritt got out of his car and approached the guy. Witnesses said they tried to diffuse the situation. They told police that Merritt shoved the guy, then punched him so hard he knocked the guy out.
Surveillance video from the Daily Ruckus shows the whole thing.
The man had a cut on the his head from hitting the ground after being knocked out.
Merritt was arrested and charged with assault. He has bonded out of jail.
